… Anyone wishing to see me, the “Vogelpfeifer” (bird imitator) Peter Berger, live can visit one of the county fairs listed under the tab “Termine & Auftritte" (Events Schedule and Performances).
In traditional family style, I’ll be chirping on my “Vogelpfeiferl” (bird whistle). I grew up in Munich between the training grounds for the soccer clubs FC Bayern München and 1860 München. With career and family obligations, I can’t always find the time for bird song performances like my well-known predecessors. However, in keeping with family tradition, I’m always at the Gäubodenfest in Straubing (a county fair outside of Munich) and at the Oktoberfest in Munich.
We’ve whistled for several generations and our family also produces the “Vogelpfeiferl” itself. “I am proud to be a successor to the bird song imitators.” Even my two sons can already whistle with the little bird whistles. In order to prepare my voice for the county fairs, I do the following: Take cough syrup and drink lots of sage tea before the festivals. But even then, my voice is gone after two days.
